After three months of uncertainty, our beloved three legged cat, Ricky has finally found his forever home! He was adopted by Ina, a wonderful lady from Nerul, Navi Mumbai. Ina initially joined us as a volunteer, but when she was asked to take Ricky to an animal shelter in Palghar that cares for handicapped animals, she had a change of heart. Instead of simply volunteering, Ina chose to become Ricky's pet parent.
From the litter of seven puppies, Glory's journey has blossomed beautifully. As the second puppy to be adopted, Glory has found a loving forever home where she is embraced with care and affection. Her story reflects the resilience of her siblings and the warmth of the community that has supported their journey. We are excited to see her thrive in her new environment!
Chocotip's journey began as one of seven puppies born to a stray dog in Karjat. After their mother suffered a serious injury, we stepped in to care for the puppies, providing them with the love and nourishment they needed. Chocotip quickly captured hearts with her charm and has now found her forever home, where she is cherished. Her story is a testament to resilience and hope for the rest of her siblings.
In Sion, a visitor from Siliguri had a fortuitous encounter with a distressed mother cat and her kitten. Swift action ensured they received immediate medical attention at a nearby veterinary clinic, where the mother cat was vaccinated and both received deworming treatment.
After their initial medical care, efforts focused on providing essential nourishment and medication to aid their recovery.
While visiting Etapalli Mines in Gadchiroli, where our founder Dr. Shubhalaxami Vaylure found this lone partially blind stray cat. She approached local veterinary hospital in Allapally who agreed to operate the cat provided there is somebody to take of the cat. The mine workers weren’t interested in taking this responsibility. Later the cat was sent to Pyaar Foundation in Chandrapur.
Moti was a stray cat from Karjat, Jamrung, who used to wander around the village. In January, we adopted him, giving him a new home. Despite his initial struggles and hostility towards other cats, Moti gradually adjusted and flourished. With consistent care and attention, he transformed into a healthy and confident cat, showcasing the remarkable power of compassion and patience.
The Animal Welfare Fortnight is an annual event held from January 14 to January 30, aiming to raise awareness and promote compassion for all animals. As part of the event, a vaccination drive for stray dogs was organized in collaboration with P.A.W.S at Ambivali village. The primary goal of the initiative is to vaccinate every stray dog to eliminate the risk of rabies. Rabies is a significant threat to animals, humans, and society at large. By ensuring the vaccination of all stray dogs, the initiative seeks to safeguard animal welfare, improve public health, and foster a compassionate society.
Two cats, Purnima and Rakhi, were rescued in Saraiwadi, Jamrung Village by
Sangeeta. They were found in good condition, now we are providing food for these two small cats. They are named as Purnima and Rakhi.
We rescued Hope in semi dead state from a garden in Koparkhairane. His
temperature was low, he was malnourished, anemic, high level of infection in his
blood, spine injury that has rendered his body lifeless. Being immobile for long time,
he developed body sores and ants were eating him when our officer picked him up.
Now his condition has improved, we have named him Hope.
We adopted Onyx2 from Andheri. He is 3 month old kitten with severe fungal infection
on his skin which made his hair fall off in several areas. He was malnourished too.
He is under treatment with Dr. Shubhalaxmi who is caring for him. we named him
Onyx 2.
We rescued a female cat with a deep gash in the abdomen. It was probably attacked
by a dog. It’s sad that the cat was lying lifeless at most crowded work place, yet
nobody thought of helping the ailing cat. Now she is in good place where she will
recover soon. We have named her Milli.
We came across a post on Mumbai Cats Club regarding an injured cat. With the help
of reporter the cat was rescued from Borivali and he was admitted admitted in a
World for All Hospital. His right leg will be imputed since his entire paw is missing.
Thankfully he is now in good place where he will recover. We named him Oreo2 as we
already rescued similar looking cat earlier. #helpstraycats.
All of them got rescued thanks to our founder Ecopreneur Shubha She arranged an
ambulance for them to get them to the animal shelter where they will be fostered and be given for adoption
These pups were suffering from mange.We took them to the vet where they were given
necessary medication and treatment. They were also vaccinated and dewormed. Later
they were left in their original space.
An injured dog on Karjat highway was rescued today. He had a leg injury from an
accident he met. The place where he stayed the people weren’t bothered by his
condition. We had stopped there for a tea and that’s how we got him rescued by
Roxane madam’s shelter.
This is Kharghar ka Raja who got operated for a large tumour . His feeder Umesh
Bhagade is taking care of him with generous help from animal lovers.
Spotty was a little kitten when we brought her home for fostering, but now she's
grown into our home as well as our heart. So we have adopted Spotty
In fierce rain and cold, around 22 pups were rescued from the Kalyan region and sent
to a shelter in Badlapur. We found that the local authorites had failed to sterilize the
dogs in the vicinity.
While working at our project site in SGNP: Mulund Range we rescued a dog that
was having a serious infectious disease spread across all over his body. We have sent
this dog for recuperation to hands that heal centre. Once they get cured and are
healthy we will release them back to their place.
At our project site Taloja Hill, Kharghar we rescued a dog with a broken leg. It was
lingering with that broken leg in pain across the streets. We sent this dog to hands
that heal shelter and wait for its recovery and release back.
Our first successful adoption. Tim was our first stray rescue and he got adopted after
8 months of fostering. A loving family in Vashi adopted Tim. He is an indoor cat and
we hope he will get adjusted soon to a new environment.
Tej was reported from Taloja on a whatsapp group where she was suffering from a
rope tied to her leg. The rope was very tight and it had pierced the skin. Due to the
pain, we was using only 3 of her legs. With great difficulty we caught her and got her
admitted to Hands that Heal animal shelter. She has been taken good care and her
wound has healed. We are supporting her expenses.
Four dogs suffering from distemper were screaming out of pain on the roads of
Borivali. Nobody bothered to look into their matter. We got the dogs picked up and
admitted them to PAWS animal centre in Murbad. They were given pain killers to ease
their pain. We knew we can't save them but they atleast died peacefully and got
dignified burial
We adopted homeless and motherless kitten Prince in Kharghar. He was weak and
starving. We saw him running on the road in search of food. We fostered him in a
hope to find a home for him. He got too cosy with our home cats therefore we decided
to keep him with us.
Cookie was often seen lying sluggishly on road side in Kharghar. She has skin
infection throughout his body and maggot infested wounds on her head. She was
admitted into an animal hospital for treatment but later was released. She is now
undergoing treatment on road.
Hero had a deep gash in his neck, we rescued him from Matunga and got him
operated on. We got him neutered and vaccinated. Currently, we are fostering him
Tim was homeless and starving with various injuries. We provided him medical help and currently fostering him. We got him vaccinated now we plan to neuter him.
